Virus Removal & Slow Computer Repairs in Adelaide
Pop-ups, sluggish startup, weird browser behaviour? We'll clean it up and get your computer feeling normal again.
What we sort out
- Virus and malware removal
- Pop-ups and browser hijackers
- Slow startup and long boot times
- Unwanted programs and bloatware
- Disk cleanup and Windows tune-up
Common problems, explained
- Pop-ups everywhere — even when your browser is closed.
- Your home page or search engine changed on its own.
- New toolbars or programs you don't remember installing.
- Very slow start-up, or the fan running hard when you're not doing anything.
- Friends getting strange emails or messages from your account.
- Security software turned off and won't turn back on.
Scam pop-ups and fake tech-support warnings
A common scam is a loud, scary pop-up claiming your computer is infected, with a phone number to call "Microsoft" or "support". These are fake. If you see one:
- Don't call the number in the pop-up.
- Don't give remote access to anyone who contacts you out of the blue.
- Close the browser — if it won't close, restart the computer.
- If you've already been scammed, change your important passwords from another device, and contact your bank if you paid anything.
What we do
We check the computer for malware and unwanted programs, remove what shouldn't be there, clean up what runs at start-up and make sure your security settings are working. We'll explain what we found in plain English.
Backups
Before any clean-up, tell us about files you can't lose. If you don't have a backup, we can talk through simple options so your files are safe in future.
Staying safe afterwards
- Keep Windows and your browser updated
- Only install software from sources you trust
- Be wary of email attachments and links you weren't expecting
- Use different passwords for important accounts
What to bring
- The computer and its charger or power cable
- Your password, or we can work with you present
- Details of any pop-ups or calls you've had
Still slow after a clean-up?
That usually means it's hardware. An SSD or RAM upgrade typically does the trick. For persistent crashes, see laptop repairs or desktop repairs.
